2012 AK Moose Hunt
« on: October 03, 2011, 11:22:25 AM »
Well a buddy of mine, from AK, just informed me that his homestead was finally open to non-residents this year for moose.  He then invited me to go moose hunting with him and his dad next year, if it is still open :IBCOOL:.  I had to think about it for .000000001 seconds and then said, "OK, if I have to!!!" :dunno:  It is unit 16B and is a 50" minimum or 3 points on the brows area, but they have shot many moose over the years and say there are a ton of griz and black bears there, which will be cool to see.  I was wondering if any of you have been up there hunting and have advise on what things are absolute musts to bring.  I am going to buy a thermacell, but wanted to ask if they are worth it?  Reviews I have heard a mixed.  Anyways, I have been glued to the GoogleEarth of the area and we are a year away.  Thanks a I'll keep you updated when the hunt happens.
